Well I trust <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The weather has been so nice <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am so jealous of you <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I smile but rarely answer <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has been through a lot poor girl <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say in whispers as then walk away <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let us put things straight <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes I live in a perfectly situated beachside apartment <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which has extensive sea views <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I cannot swim or enjoy the feel of the sand <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I have no legs that is why I live here <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My legs were so badly damaged in the accident <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That they were amputated to save my life <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I once had nice legs which I liked <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Especially on hot summer days <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But now they do not exist below my knees <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am in constant need of assistance<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And can only enjoy the beach and the sea <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If I am carried or wheeled there<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both of which are not really practical <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So why does everybody say that I look well<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe I do look tanned and healthy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I am not whole far from it <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just for moment I would like people <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To be honest and recognise my dreadful disability <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wish that people would stop being so nice <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just ignore me and get on with your day <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am content with the dream swimmers <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who as they move towards <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The point at high tide<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wave absently in my direction <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wave to me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is all I ask<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This makes me happy <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Strangers passing silently<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without stopping to speak <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Swimming Towards America <\/p>\n\n\n\n
