La Iglesia de Santa Catalina<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was a legendary martyr<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And is still one of the most revered <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of all medieval saints <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A learned princess <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who converted to Christianity <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And was executed for her faith <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is a beautiful church <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a sense of peace here<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How did you know about it <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because I come from Bath <\/p>\n\n\n\n
St Catherine is near Bath <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have known it from a young age <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bath is a million miles away <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From where we are today <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there is another reason for our visit <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As hidden away is the story of Maria Caesar <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Spanish actress who died very young <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What happened to her <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She drowned whilst swimming <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tragedy is that Maria <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had always hated the sea <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was born in Zaragoza <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And until she made the movie Paz<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had not really had occasion <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To visit the coast <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This movie which was very popular <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Changed the way she looked at the sea <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And she purchased a villa <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With extensive sea views<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rest is history <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As she drowned whilst swimming <\/p>\n\n\n\n
About a year later <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She died on a calm day in calm waters <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was no reason for her to drown <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her death is still a mystery <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She rests here and is often visited <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her fans bring red carnations <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As these were her favourite flowers <\/p>\n\n\n\n
