My father was an ordinary lock keeper <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On an obscure Midlands canal <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was quite busy at times <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And at other times it was rather quiet <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My sister used to swim between the locks <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That was until she contracted a disease <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which in time slowly crippled her <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also swam in the canal as I grew older <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But suffered no adverse or lasting effects <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sarah however took advantage of her immobility<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And started writing novels which sold very well <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I inherited my fathers job on his forced retirement <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And up to the closure of the canal lived his simple life <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My sister no longer writes due to her declining eyesight <\/p>\n\n\n\n
