On a closed line <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And found no trains <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I met a refugee <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who had been adopted <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By a local family <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a future actress <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had once been welcomed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before the war <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing had changed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The village was the same<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As it had always been <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although time decay <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had slowly roughened its edges <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I travelled towards a city <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I realised that for a hour <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That I had become part <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of a worn tradition <\/p>\n\n\n\n
