The partly unlit station <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was no phone box <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anywhere in the vicinity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It had started to rain <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I should have stayed in my car<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But near the waiting room<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I found a small help point <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When is the next train <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where to <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Box Land Junction <\/p>\n\n\n\n
23:13 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is also the last train <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From South Otley today<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My watch showed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That I just had over an hour to wait <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I sat on one of the few dry benches <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Are you waiting for a train mate <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes my car has broken down <\/p>\n\n\n\n
No trains run in either direction after eight<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is nothing until tomorrow morning <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The help point has told me that there is a train <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It stops here at 23:13 fast to Box Land Junction<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are some local stories <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where the box springs to life <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And a disembodied voice<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can clearly be heard<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Giving useless information <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is no power as the cables were removed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the signals were last inspected<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drove me to his pub where I contacted the AA<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within two hours I was home and dry<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The disembodied voice had spooked me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had been caught in a loop <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was no rational explanation <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For what had happened<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I never visited South Otley again <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Neither the village or the station<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I have no reason to be there<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the voice still haunts me<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whenever I think about it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
