Until about about a year ago Mrs Moore lived next door<\/p>\n
I only saw her when she hung her washing out<\/p>\n
But she did not speak to me<\/p>\n
And it was about then that I began to get fascinated<\/p>\n
With the contents of her washing line<\/p>\n
You must understand that this was not in strange way<\/p>\n
As I was just as interested in her tea towels as I was with her smalls<\/p>\n
And then it all stopped and her latest line remained totally untouched<\/p>\n
Many months passed and I started to make local enquiries<\/p>\n
As the street birds had begun to nest in her peg bag<\/p>\n
And her knickers had been stolen by the strange man at number six<\/p>\n
I was eventually told that she had won a great deal of money on the lottery<\/p>\n
And was living in Barbados with her girlfriend and their dog<\/p>\n
I chased this up and contacted Mrs Moore asking what I should do with her decaying line<\/p>\n
She replied almost immediately and said that the contents of the washing line<\/p>\n
Would be mine for eternity if I could answer a simple question by return<\/p>\n
She asked me whether I pissed in the shower or did I frown on such activities<\/p>\n
I never answered her as I do not have a shower in my wet room<\/p>\n
