I was swinging on a makeshift swing when I became blind<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
When I say blind I do not mean totally blind as I could make out shapes within the blinding light<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I was told to jump off if the swing as there was a larger swing not far from me that was being ridden erratically<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As we walked through the park you introduced me to a number of people that I could not see<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Each time I shook their hand and apologised for my blindness<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I assured them that my affliction was only temporary and that my sight would return<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
But I was not sure of this fact as I knew my inner compass was still<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
My sight returned whilst we were waking through a vegetable market<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This happened slowly as you were purchasing food for our evening meal<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Although at first I thought it to be a bump in the glass the vivid colours of the vegetables soon became clear to me<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You placed a ripe pepper in my hand and asked me to confirm the colour<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I answered correctly without hesitation and then bit savagely into the soft red skin<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It was a spontaneous gesture of celebration but it shocked you and you asked me to leave the market<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And return to the larger swing which was now quite vacant and melting in the afternoon sun<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
