Of late I have been touting my literary archive around some of the worlds most prestigious universities<\/p>\n
Most of them have told me to fuck off as my archive is of no interest to them<\/p>\n
They tell me that I have more chance of walking on the moon<\/p>\n
Than becoming a poet<\/p>\n
This has upset me<\/p>\n
As poetry is my life<\/p>\n
I consider that I am a good poet<\/p>\n
Who is of yet undiscovered<\/p>\n
They disagree and state that I am a sad wanker who works in Pound Land<\/p>\n
Who thinks he is the best poet since TSE or his beloved GMH<\/p>\n
A college in Sri Lanka did contact me<\/p>\n
But they were more interested in my novelty carrier bag that the literary contents<\/p>\n
They were grateful for the carrier bag and have named their outside latrines after me<\/p>\n
This obviously pissed me off but deep down I was honoured<\/p>\n
I am aware that my poetry will never be recognised and am beginning to accept this fact<\/p>\n
But my letters are different as if read they identify me and if you acknowledge this<\/p>\n
Then you will understand my poetry<\/p>\n
My mother understands my poetry but pretends not to<\/p>\n
My father is dead and does not have an opinion<\/p>\n
And I know that my sister Julie likes my work although she is quite blind<\/p>\n
Which for the time being is enough for me<\/p>\n
But when I am rich enough I will take a cruise to America<\/p>\n
And jump into the Gulf of Mexico as HC did many years ago<\/p>\n
