{"id":6174,"date":"2021-01-01T21:35:49","date_gmt":"2021-01-01T21:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuartpoetry.art\/?p=6174"},"modified":"2021-01-01T21:56:35","modified_gmt":"2021-01-01T21:56:35","slug":"seaweed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/01\/seaweed\/","title":{"rendered":"Seaweed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>I adore seaweed<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Said Lorri Li<\/p>\n<p><em>I love its texture<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I love its perfume<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And how it is ignored<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When it is washed up on beaches<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Mermaids are often thought<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To be the sweetest of creatures<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But we are the most foul<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We are not beautiful<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Our beauty is what you choose to see<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And our odours are quite repellent<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But when they are mixed with the sea breezes<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>They resemble the perfumes of the exotic<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A stranded sailor once saw me at play on a beach<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I knew that he was admiring my beautiful breasts<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But little did he know that I resembled a dogfish<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And that his gaze was all of his own making<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Mermaids are not at all beautiful but they are cunning<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We entertain and tease the very men who are sent to destroy us<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>That is how our fragile species survive in the uncertain oceans<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>From The Mermaid Chronicles by J.W.
