Jemima often looked her collection of books<\/p>\n
These were her only books as her flat was small<\/p>\n
She loved poetry and the Georgian Poets<\/p>\n
And her library contained all their works<\/p>\n
But this made her a little uncomfortable<\/p>\n
As she realised that each of her books<\/p>\n
Had survived the Spanish Flu pandemic<\/p>\n
Which had occurred just over a hundred years before<\/p>\n
What place had the innocence of these poems<\/p>\n
In those dark days that followed the war<\/p>\n
This was a question that she could not answer<\/p>\n
And now history was repeating itself<\/p>\n
She had been trapped in her small town for over two months<\/p>\n
And longed for the bucolic country days of her tender years<\/p>\n
This made her angry which in turn caused her shame<\/p>\n
As another question even more raw came to mind<\/p>\n
