{"id":7275,"date":"2021-04-29T22:01:51","date_gmt":"2021-04-29T21:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuartpoetry.art\/?p=7275"},"modified":"2021-04-29T22:09:45","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T21:09:45","slug":"a-roy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2021\/04\/29\/a-roy\/","title":{"rendered":"A roy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My parents died in an air crash three years ago<\/p>\n<p>And in their will they left me our apartment<\/p>\n<p>Which is in the shitty part of town<\/p>\n<p>When I was growing up I did not care<\/p>\n<p>But now I hate looking out of the windows<\/p>\n<p>As all I can see are concrete buildings<\/p>\n<p>Full of faceless people such as myself<\/p>\n<p>Of late I have noted graffiti appearing nearby<\/p>\n<p>It is of no merit and is pure vandalism<\/p>\n<p>I watched the artists late one night<\/p>\n<p>Spraying the rough walls until I grew tired of their excess<\/p>\n<p>I then shot at them with my late fathers service pistol<\/p>\n<p>They fucked off at once and did not return<\/p>\n<p>Which I suppose was a victory of sorts for me<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adam inherited his farm when his father was killed in a tractor accident<\/p>\n<p>He did not have a mother who he guessed to be a passing itinerant<\/p>\n<p>Who had lived with his late father when he was very young<\/p>\n<p>The farm which was vast was divided up into six sections<\/p>\n<p>With two of the sections being fallow by rotation and the others set to wheat<\/p>\n<p>He was happy with the progress of his farm with the exception of the sixth section<\/p>\n<p>This bothered him as his late father had been a meticulous man and had recorded<\/p>\n<p>The number of fence posts in every section but the tally in section six showed inconsistencies<\/p>\n<p>There should have been four hundred and ninety six fence posts in the area of section six<\/p>\n<p>But Adam could only count four hundred and sixty eight which was a shortfall of twenty eight<\/p>\n<p>This confused and alarmed him in equal measure as he thought that he was being invaded<\/p>\n<p>By the flat ash wastes that surrounded his farm so he removed<\/p>\n<p>All the fence posts in section six and never farmed it again<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My parents died in an air crash three years ago And in their will they left me our apartment Which is in the shitty part of town When I was growing up I did not care But now I hate looking out of the windows As all I can see are concrete buildings Full of [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7275"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=7275"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7275\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7275"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=7275"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=7275"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
