Barbara Northern Ireland is a type of grass<\/p>\n
That grows mainly on shallow hills<\/p>\n
Although it can be found in water meadows<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Unknown until 1891 it was named after<\/p>\n
Barbara Northern Ireland<\/p>\n
A seamstress who lived in Paddington<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She discovered the grasses in a dream<\/p>\n
And immediately became aware<\/p>\n
Of the significance of her discovery<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Her employer contacted the Institute for Grasses<\/p>\n
Who confirmed the originality of her find<\/p>\n
And named the grasses after her in honour<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In 1909 Barbara married Bertie New England<\/p>\n
And moved to Northern India with his posting<\/p>\n
She was last heard of in 1936 in New Ceylon<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
