in Nicaragua"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After I was released from prison<\/p>\n<p>It was suggested that I work<\/p>\n<p>In a chip shop in Wolverhampton<\/p>\n<p>It was not much of a job<\/p>\n<p>But I soon became friends<\/p>\n<p>With an Argentinian woman<\/p>\n<p>Who called herself<\/p>\n<p>Artemisia Gentileschi<\/p>\n<p>After the 17th Century artist<\/p>\n<p>I did not know her real name<\/p>\n<p>But did find out that she was a recovering addict<\/p>\n<p>Although she was quite plain and a little overweight<\/p>\n<p>I found her attractive and interesting<\/p>\n<p>But she would not reveal her histories to me<\/p>\n<p>So I tried to impress her with my failed poetry<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Ghosts\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I am not here<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I have been here\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>All my dreams\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Are scripted by ghosts<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Estudiantes<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A girl with a red flag\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Was standing by\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A shattered wall\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the distance\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The first gunshots\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Of the revolution\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Were breaking the silence<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Frida\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>On the day of her wedding\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To Diego Rivera\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Frida borrowed a dress\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>From a friend\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Her reception was held\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the house <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Of a photographer<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These were the only poems I had<\/p>\n<p>As my notebook had been stolen in prison<\/p>\n<p>It was after I had shown her my work<\/p>\n<p>That Artemisia told me that she was married<\/p>\n<p>Which I had suspected all along<\/p>\n<p>As she often chatted on her mobile<\/p>\n<p>When the shop was quiet and the owners absent<\/p>\n<p>I was a little disappointed but I was a realist<\/p>\n<p>As prison strips away everything else<\/p>\n<p>Yet I can say that I was more than a little surprised<\/p>\n<p>When I found out that she had married Sheba<\/p>\n<p>Who had been her prison warder<\/p>\n<p>I am now involved in a community project<\/p>\n<p>Which tries to stop kids from wasting their lives<\/p>\n<p>It has been very successful which is good<\/p>\n<p>But I am still terribly lonely and sad<\/p>\n<p>And am looking for love and companionship<\/p>\n<p>I have been clean for three and a half years now<\/p>\n<p>Which is very important to me as that is what fucked me up<\/p>\n<p>I still write poor poetry as it is a relaxing pastime<\/p>\n<p>David has arranged for a collection of six of my poems<\/p>\n<p>To be published in an ex offenders book of poetry<\/p>\n<p>This has pleased me as you might guess<\/p>\n<p>Although I consider myself a poet only fit for circles<\/p>\n<p>My collection of poems has a somewhat unusual title<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Sleeping in
