Of late large clumps of black sea weed<\/p>\n

Have been washed up on the beach<\/p>\n

There is no rational explanation for this<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Genoa<\/em> was sunk off of Kingsdown in 1945<\/p>\n

She hit a lazy mine and sank within the hour<\/p>\n

There were no fatalities apart from the ships cat<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am a survivor from the sinking of the Genoa<\/em><\/p>\n

And have lived in Kingsdown ever since<\/p>\n

I often think of the ships cat who was named Isaac<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He was a large tabby and the best mouser<\/p>\n

That I have ever seen his exploits were legendary<\/p>\n

But he could not swim and drowned with the mice<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before I was rescued that day from the sinful sea<\/p>\n

I saw clumps of black seaweed such as I have seen recently<\/p>\n

The years may have passed but I still feel the same discomfort<\/p>\n
