Jesse Almond died last night<\/p>\n
In the novel that I am writing<\/p>\n
She was my childhood friend<\/p>\n
And we spent many happy years together<\/p>\n
I thought I might marry her eventually<\/p>\n
But then I became contaminated<\/p>\n
And found that she could not exist<\/p>\n
In my short stories<\/p>\n
When I told her about this she moved to France<\/p>\n
And then on to Argentina<\/p>\n
To work on the Southern Fuegian Railway<\/p>\n
We correspond frequently<\/p>\n
And occasionally she sends me a lock<\/p>\n
Of her raven hair<\/p>\n
She is still quite angry with me<\/p>\n
And will not return<\/p>\n
Until she lives again in my poetry<\/p>\n
