style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Yes we are<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Then I will carry on<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The image of St George this<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penelope glanced at Lev but did not say anything<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>No it can get very cold much colder that England<br style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But he was safe from his wife<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>He had left her a letter explaining his actions I believe that it said that he was leaving his wife as it was what old men did to spend their last days in solitude<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But he only got this far before illness forced him from the train<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The stationmaster gave him the use of his house<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But the station was not as peaceful as it is today<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The whole thing was a circus<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The media arrived and there was no peace to be found<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The Count died in public which was very sad<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>He had not wanted that<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>His wife who had travelled to this station was only allowed to see him when he was at the point of death<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I doubt that he was aware of her presence<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penelope let a small tear drop onto her pale blue vest<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Why are you sad?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I was just thinking of poor Anna under a train<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>How can you be sad on a day such as this?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tell me Lev how do you see your country?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>How do you see yours?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>A mess run by people who are basically quite limited<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>All leaders are poor<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>That is true in most cases<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>One does not see natural leaders very often<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Most just climb over corpses to the top<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I feel scared for the future of my country<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Why?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>It is acting like a wounded lion<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Once it was strong and fierce<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But times have changed<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>It is just the same as your country<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>One you were strong and to some extent ruled the world<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But then you grew small<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Times changed<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>But do you know what I admire about your country?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Your sense of fair play<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I believe that we are the most democratic country in the world don\u2019t you Penny?<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>That depends what you mean by democratic<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I have always wondered why large countries such as China and Russia can be ruled so tightly from within<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>This would never happen in the UK<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I do not know why but I do not feel it<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Enough my friends you are guests in my country and we should not discuss large things<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>A great writer breathed his last here<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>You have travelled many miles to pay homage<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I welcome your visit and will accept your invitation to visit your great country quite soon<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both Lev and Tuppence stood up and walked towards the station building<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Do come<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>I will stay here as I want to enjoy the Russian sun<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As soon as her friends were out of sight Penelope pulled a paperback from her canvas bag<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was about to read\u00a0<em>Anna Karenina<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She had lost her original copy in Moscow but had found an English language copy in Astapovo<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This struck her as unusual but many people visited the town<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It had most probably been left by a backpacker<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She looked at the ground and at the small stones that roasted in the sun<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quite soon she and Tuppence would be many miles away<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lev would return to Moscow<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the small stones would remain<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a few months they would be covered with snow or at least would suffer the harsh winter<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But if she returned next summer they would be there or nearby<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She wondered if The Count had trodden on them as he made his way towards his final bed<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the distance she heard a train<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was time to leave<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:
