The Major galloped rapidly across the field of battle<\/p>\n

On his trusty horse Berry Hall<\/p>\n

Captain January is at it again what a crazy fellow he is
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

He is no longer a captain<\/em><\/p>\n

He is a Major now
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

What is he doing?<\/em><\/p>\n

He is drawing the shell fire away from our trenches
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

So that we may regroup
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

He is still a crazy fellow
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

I think he likes the war
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

He treats it as a kind of sport
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

A shell landed near a stricken farm of fence<\/p>\n

For an instant the Major\u2019s horse was blinded<\/p>\n

But it ran bravely through the acrid smoke<\/p>\n

And it was soon was jumping the broken obstruction<\/p>\n

His father was just as mad
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Served during the African wars
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Still riding even with a spear wound in his side
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Too old for this war otherwise he would have been out there with his son
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

That is what distinguishes this country above all others<\/em><\/p>\n

The Major let his horse trot calmly through No Man\u2019s Land<\/p>\n

He was looking for Andromeda<\/p>\n

But she had already been devoured by a sea monster<\/p>\n
