{"id":9593,"date":"2022-01-01T19:20:16","date_gmt":"2022-01-01T19:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stuartpoetry.art\/?p=9593"},"modified":"2022-01-01T19:43:29","modified_gmt":"2022-01-01T19:43:29","slug":"horizons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/2022\/01\/01\/horizons\/","title":{"rendered":"Horizons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The main bedroom in our large house faces the sea<\/p>\n<p>It is a large room which has a main double bed near the window<\/p>\n<p>This is where I sleep with Octavia<\/p>\n<p>There is another much smaller bed against a trapped cupboard door<\/p>\n<p>This is occasionally used as a sick bed or when we are uncomfortable<\/p>\n<p>Octavia sleeps nearest to the window as she likes the sea air<\/p>\n<p>I often watch her rise to witness the spectacular sunrises<\/p>\n<p>She never dresses and always sits in the window chair caring little for her modesty<\/p>\n<p>Due to the position of <em>Richards<\/em> the sun seems to have a clear and uninterrupted path across the sky<\/p>\n<p>But it is not so much the sun that interest me but the changing nature of the horizon<\/p>\n<p>I frequently watch it rise and fall usually over Octavia&#8217;s naked shoulder<\/p>\n<p>The tide levels especially in winter vary wildly here in East Kent<\/p>\n<p>And the mathematics of these disturbances can be seen clearly on the pier supports<\/p>\n<p>I sometimes see ships passing and wonder of their origins and about the crews<\/p>\n<p>Can these tired sailors see our cream house against the beige house of our nearest neighbours<\/p>\n<p>Or are they too busy working to really consider the low coastal horizons nearby<\/p>\n<p>I am planning to turn the adjacent sea facing room into a study so that I might write facing the sea<\/p>\n<p>But at present this is a pipe dream as we are busy decorating other parts of the house<\/p>\n<p>Which although less interesting are much loved for their inland views of the church and the distant sheep fields<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The main bedroom in our large house faces the sea It is a large room which has a main double bed near the window This is where I sleep with Octavia There is another much smaller bed against a trapped cupboard door This is occasionally used as a sick bed or when we are uncomfortable [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9593","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9593","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=9593"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9593\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":9597,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9593\/revisions\/9597"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9593"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=9593"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/stuartmillerosborne.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=9593"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
