When the owner of a bookstall approached me<\/p>\n
And asked if I would like to buy a Barcelona scarf<\/p>\n
I told him that I would although the day was red blue raw<\/p>\n
But my major concern was that I was still barefoot<\/p>\n
He instructed me to get on a train and travel to Cannes<\/p>\n
And therein enquire about my missing shoes<\/p>\n
When walking the scalding streets of the purple city<\/p>\n
I told the owner of the crescent moon of my recent dreams<\/p>\n
And the shadows that at times had seemed quite opaque<\/p>\n
It was then he told me that he had once lived in Basingstoke<\/p>\n
