When visiting Lulworth Cove I thought of O’Gorman’s autocrome portrait of his daughter Christina
This photograph was taken over twenty years ago but I never tire of my witness
The beach was empty with a cool wind coming in off of the sea causing Margot and I to tighten our coats
I fancied that I saw the girl with the flaxen hair walking near to the dying waves but it was just a mistake of the eye
In your red cape
you look away from the sun
something has your attention
but you do not share your mystery
