The Japanese Ferry Terminal

I am waiting with my wife and two children at a ferry terminal in Western Japan

Our ferry is due in two hours

We have been in Japan for three days

During my stay I found a wallet containing a great deal of money in a market

I handed it to the son of a stall holder who spoke perfect English

He said it was the property of an eccentric Samurai

A ferry disaster is unfolding on the huge television screen at the terminal

My wife and I are chatting about the nearby shower rooms

Which are unisex and are very well lit

A zebra is running the red bookstall although it is owned by the ferry company

Most of the newspapers and journals are in Japanese

Although some are available in English and French

Small wooden souvenirs are for sale on a small table near the street side entrance

These consist of jade elephants and cuddly bears

The vendor a small Japanese woman tells me that she is a distant relative of Basho
